The ice on all area lakes and ponds has about melted away. Use extreme caution if you feel the ice is still thick enough to fish. Safe ice for fishing is 4-inches. If in doubt stay on shore or wear a life jacket.
CO: Gary Light, Burns Ditch, Michigan City (mouth of Trail Creek) on spoons, jig/squid, crawlers.
BT: State Line Commonwealth Edison plant on jig/squid, large minnows.
SM: State Line Commonwealth Edison plant on jig/minnow, jig/crawler.
PE: 95th Street, Navy Pier on shrimp, minnows, spikes.
SM, WA, NP, CH on large minnows.
Trail and Salt Creeks, Little Calumet tributaries are high and muddy. Good spots are in pools and behind logs.
SH on spawn sacs, tipped jigs, spinners.
CR on minnows.
